Workshop Session 1 – Rooted to Rise: Community Marketing for Small Business
Facilitator: Jeanette Johnston Business and Mindset Coaching
This interactive workshop guides small business owners through building a grounded, authentic marketing system rooted in local connection. Inspired by real world success stories and supported by NLP practices, this session is ideal for entrepreneurs who feel overwhelmed by digital marketing and crave a more values-aligned approach.
Meet Coach Jeanette
Jeanette Johnston is a formally trained business coach and NLP practitioner with over 20 years of experience supporting small- to medium-sized business owners in building stronger businesses and more confident lives. She specializes in helping clients uncover limiting beliefs, develop sustainable systems, and achieve meaningful personal and professional growth.
Through her own journey, Jeanette has used NLP to overcome negative habits and emotions, regaining clarity, confidence, and her health. This lived experience, combined with her professional expertise, allows her to support business owners in addressing both personal and business challenges—because, as Jeanette believes, they are inextricably connected.
Beyond her professional work, Jeanette is a dedicated mom, wife, sister, daughter, friend, and passionate community advocate. She is an active volunteer and a strong champion for her region, driven by a genuine desire to help others succeed. Jeanette looks forward to serving and supporting clients on their path to growth and fulfillment.
Workshop Session 2 – Found & Followed: Build a High-Converting Instagram & Facebook Profile
Facilitator: Kat Tepylo of Social Kat Media
Let’s make your Instagram + Facebook profiles do some heavy
lifting. Your social media profiles are your digital storefront and are often the first hello someone gets of your business.
In this session, we’ll refresh your bio, plan your Highlights, and tidy up your pinned posts so your profiles clearly show who you are, who you help, and why someone should stick around.
Meet Social Kat Media
Social Kat Media helps small-town small businesses get strategic (and confident) on social media—without posting 57 times a day, hiring a Gen Z intern, or sacrificing every lunch break to “engagement.” Founded by Kat, a certified social media strategist based in the woods of Lakefield, Ontario, the business is built on one core belief: social media should be effective, human, and actually fun.
Kat is a mom of two, a certified Swiftie, a popcorn enthusiast, and a proud small-town entrepreneur who understands the realities of running a business while juggling real life. After working with thousands of small business owners across Canada and the U.S., she helps entrepreneurs step into their role as their business’s marketing director—owning their voice, building real connection, and showing up online with confidence (and personality).
At the heart of Social Kat Media is a deep commitment to kindness, mental health, and meaningful connection. Kat believes that real relationships are powerful, community matters, and business can be a force for good. That’s why 5% of Social Kat Media profits are donated through their Social Media for Social Good fund, supporting causes that make a positive impact.
Big strategy. Small-town heart. Pink vibes encouraged.
